I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to...
1) the multitude of games that got me through high school, from the NYT games (a daily must) to euchre with friends (after finishing our work... sometimes);
2) my tablemates, Melodi and Eshaal, for making each day interesting;
3) Kate Chopin, for writing The Awakening — it was a great book to answer AP prompts with, but above all, it showed me that classic books don't have to be uninteresting;
4) last — and certainly not least — Mrs. Feldkamp, for making me hate poetry a little less, motivating me to treat reading less like a task but more like an opportunity to learn and see new perspectives, and bringing in Koda to class every day. She didn't lie at the start of the year when she said 12 AP is different from every other English class I've taken, and I'm so glad I went through with it.
Confession: I didn't finish my independent reading book — but I'm grateful for Mrs. Feldkamp for having us read lots of pieces in class, because I found myself with plenty of options to write about for the AP exam. This summer, I'm hoping to start chipping away at my "to-read" list from one of the recent blog posts!
Thank you, senior year :)
